DENVER BRONCOS NEWS

After an off-season of having obvious weakness in depth at corner the Denver Broncos have tried to address that issue via trades which didn't manifest. The broncos were only offered 1 player they truly desired as a #1 guy in the market but the price was too insane to even think about taking. Thus we went with the free agent market and signed veteran corner Travarous Bain who will be joining his 6th different team in his 9th season in the league, Bain was brought in to be our nickel corner as he was the best available option. Looking to add more depth we seeked out partners even from within the division, and found a seller in the San Diego Chargers, A deal was struck and Cary Williams will now be joining the Broncos this season and bump bain down to dime. Its been painfully apparently through the first 2 pre-season games how painfully bad our secondary play has been. This hasn't hurt us yet because we haven't faced a teams A game for a whole 4 quarters, but it will come to haunt us we feel throughout the season unless something is done. Now armed with 2 1st round dps we feel confident we'll find the #1 corner we so desprately crave to put beside of David Cox.

There's been a world of change on the offensive side of the ball due to the fact most of our offensive linemen decided not to return to Denver following a dismal year as result its widely thought we'll struggle this year because of it, but we're looking to change that perspective right out of the gate and show that our young line can more than do the job.

2015 NFL DRAFT REPORT

After announcing the switch from the 4-3 to the 3-4 the search was on for another defensive guy to team with our other two well suited defensive linemen as well as replacements for the aforementioned departing offensive linemen, with that in mind here are the results of countless minutes of draft preparation.

1.6 - After trading away LB Garza and WR Finch for this pick we were hoping to land Geno Atkins honestly, but that was thwarted when the Chicago Bears took him at 1.4 instead we decided to go with Ndamukong Suh out of Nebraska.

1.8 - We wanted someone who we could count in on the running game, a guy who could pound the ball, but also break the big one. We felt we would have that in Toby Gerhart the kid out of Standford. We didn't entertain the notion of moving down because there are guarantees in these drafts and you have to take the guys you want when you know you can.

3.8 - The first step in replacing the veteran guys who were fed up with how Denver was previously ran and deciding not to return was drafting replacements. The first of those replacements we found in massive guard William Ballard, hes just one imposing force on the offensive side of the ball and will lead the way for Gerhart to pound the rock

5.8 - Following with the previous thinking we again took a young raw offensive linemen to develop selecting tackle Owen Gonzalez out of Michigan. Being a linemen for the Big Blue Gonzalez knows what run blocking is all about but his footwork and ability to pick up the right guy on the blitz still needs a ton of work.

6.8 - With a need for pure depth at the position of wideout we took Sylvester Nash out of Ball State. He could be a decent option as a 4th wr but he wont get any higher than that as we plan to pursue a more pure 3rd wr option either via trade or free agency.

7.8 - With need for more depth on the offensive line we simple took the best guy available in guard Jeffrey McGee out of Wisconsin University. If he had more awareness he could've easy been a round 2 or round 3 draft pick in this draft class, but his inability to initially grasp the ins and outs of being a pro guard dropped him to the 7th round.

While the work isn't yet over following the draft, the entire staff are more than pleased with that we were able to pick up and accomplish through the few trades and then through the carefully calculated selections of the 2015 NFL Draft.

2015 DENVER BRONCOS INITIATE TRAINING CAMP - POSITION BATTLE EDITION

Quarterback - Incumbent Jay Cutler vs Andre Woodson

Analysis - Cutler has come out strong in camp having many think that after finally feeling the heat from the incoming woodson he should step up his game for the first time in his career. Woodson has been zipping the ball around with such precision himself even veteran corner Darrell Revis was unable to get a fingernail on any of his passes. Hes the clear favorite to win at this point and if cutler slips up even one time its all the more reason for him to get his clipboard out of retirement.

Runningback - Incumbent LeSean McCoy vs Toby Gerhart

Analysis - McCoy has come into camp unhappy that we've drafted another runningback to compete with him and has decided not to even participate in the camp he is obligated to be a part of. Gerhart has more than seized this opportunity and has a new found respect for the defense as veteran Patrick Willis love tapped him in a run up the gut on his first offensive set.

Thankfully all of the other positions are set in stone at this point and time and only lack of hustle or serious injury could impede what the broncos are sure to the their starting players for the upcoming campaign.

BRONCOS STARS TO WATCH IN 2015

MLB Roy Ross Although hes playing along side Patrick Willis he will be a vital part of the 3-4 scheme, coming off a rookie season of 83tkls and 2 defensive touchdowns, he'll look to build on his rookie campaign and establish himself within the division.

WR Mario Manningham Mario will move to the more productive #2 slot this upcoming season baring the broncos being able to make a deal to get him a better staring partner to go along side him. Mario is coming off one of his more productive seasons in Denver and at 28yrs old has a few more left in him.

HB Toby Gerhart We're going to go out on a limb and predict a 1,500yd season in his rookie season. Although not #1 on some teams boards he has all the intangibles you look for in a halfback from his quick first step, to his ability to lower his shoulders and carry defenders through the pile on the goal line. He will be a star in this league.

LB Irving Davis He had his best all around statistical season this past year for the Packers and while he severely lacks sizes hes one of the most explosive linebackers in the league. Strong side linebackers are the true forces in the 3-4 and we figure with his speed there's no reason 10+ sacks should be out of the question.

CB David Cox Cox almost tripled his tackle numbers from his rookie year, coming into his 3rd season cox is more seasoned and is starting to grasp the nuances of playing corner in the NFL. We will look for him to anchor the secondary and guard each teams best receiver this upcoming season.

We expect big things out of all the guys we've mentioned of course its not up to us if they can do it but its their own will and ability to follow the game plans provided to them by their respective coordinators and head coach.

2015 AFC West Division Breakdown and Predictions

CHARGERS - When you mention the AFC West the first team that comes to mind is the San Diego Chargers who have lost an amazing 4 games total the past 2 seasons none of which were to division foes, its just pure domination. Since taking over the Chargers during their 2011 campaign Mr Robbins has amassed a .797% winning percentage and steadily steered the Chargers in the right direction. Robbins has done everything right especially when it comes to the draft bringing in the likes of Frank Summers,Spencer Adkins,Clinton McDonald,James Hartle,Beau Hansen and Wilford Savage. All of these players have one thing in common they were all drafted in the last 3 seasons are are key players for the chargers in the future. Mr Robbins is a prime example of if you draft right your team will blossom and stay dominate for a long long time, bad news for the rest of us in the West.

Prediction - 13-3

RAIDERS - JUST WIN BABY ! The famous motto of embattled Raiders owner Al Davis. Unlike the usual temperamental davis whos been known to want to fire a coach for under performing mid way through a season. Mr Davis has stuck with Coach Livojevic through 2 consecutive 4-12 seasons (in 2008 and 2009) to see a resurgence in the team. Its been a roller coaster ride going on Mr Livojevics 10th season in Oakland 6 games above .500 for his career. However there is light at the end of the Raiders proverbial black hole. Starting with receiver Issac Choy who had a great rookie campaign and followed it up with a nice sophomore one minus the 20 drops which led the league. Sean Smith is one of the most physically imposing corners in the entire league at 6'3'' and the speed to keep up with most anyone. However, the buck starts and stops with Darren McFadden whos rushed for 9,600+yds and 69tds in 7 short seasons with the Raiders. If Mr Livojevic can find a dependable signal caller to throw to Choy combined with the running game it would make for one explosive offense. They have drafted a young quarterback in Alfred Griffith but no one knows when he'll crack the starting lineup to be able to see if hes the answer.

Prediction - 10-6

CHIEFS - Its been a rough rough time in Kansas City when the franchise was first ran by Kevin McCauley for the first 2 seasons until current Coach David Bauer was hired on with the difficult task of turning around one of the most storied teams in NFL History. However, its been a difficult road with the Chiefs only winning more than 6 games once with a 7-9 record in 09 Mr Bauer's 3rd season with the club. The Chiefs have been consistent the past 2 seasons finishing with identical 6-10 records as Bauer attempts to revitalize the franchise. Everyone knows the key to a great offense is a quarterback to help keep the momentum going. Using his league worst 4-12 record in 2012 Mr Bauer snagged the current face of the Chiefs offense Matthew Stafford who at 24 is one of the up and coming stars in the league. The Chiefs are also focused on defense Wilfred Stannard with the 4th pick in the draft last season and Wilbur Cunningham with the 9th this season giving them a great young duo of 6'0''+ corners. Whether or not this pieces will turn around the Chiefs this season has yet to be seen but it'll be fun to watch.

Prediction - 5-11

BRONCOS - The Broncos have had 4 owners including Mr Chapman in the past 10 seasons, none of which has had great success with Jean Roy posting the best record at 2 games above .500 for his career the other two had a 17-30 combined record. After taking over a team in Week 13 of this past season we managed to reel off 5 straight wins (4 of which Mr Chapman can take credit for) to finish with a measly 5-11 record. Before Mr Orosz departed the league he did draft some of the faces of the current Broncos squad in corner David Cox, backer Roy Ross, and trading for DT Roy Miller from the Bears. Trying to add to this we've been active in the trade market trying to turn this team we love around. We've brought in key defensive veterans like Patrick Willis,Irving Davis, and Derrick Johnson to help out the new defensive scheme. Andrew Woodson looks to help our passing game, and rookie Toby Gerhart will give us a dependable running game. We dont know yet if all of this will spell success but we wont give up putting the pieces together until it does.

Prediction - 9-7

This concludes the 2015 writeup of the Denver Broncos we hope you enjoy reading it. GL to everyone in 2015

Broncos Draft Tracker

1.6 DE Ndamukong Suh - Nebraska

Analysis - The Broncos were in the market for a big, young defensive end to anchor the right side of the line opposite Tyson Jackson. So, with the 6th overall pick acquired from the Cardinals we've taken who we considered one of the better options after Geno Atkins was swooped away a couple picks before. Suh is 300lbs of pure hurt just itching to get at the quarterback on every down, he was the star players of the famed Nebraska Cornhuskers Black Shirt defense winning multiple awards and was even a finalist for the Heisman Trophy. Suh will set his sights on the AFC West quarterbacks and be sure to leave his mark, We look forward to having him this season.

1.8 HB Toby Gehart - Stanford

Analysis - Yet another seen need of the Broncos, LeSean McCoy is far from an every down back, and Gerhart is just a bruising type of runner not avoiding contact with his 230lb frame. Gehart ran for 1,800yds and 27tds this year at Stanford and like Suh was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy. Gerhart will give us an every down back we can count own to wear down the defense late in the game with every lumbering carry. He was asked who he modeled his game after growing up and he said he loved watching Mike Alstott pound the ball around for Tampa Bay growing up. Depending on who you talk to Gerhart wasn't a top 10 talent, but in a shallow draft and this being one of our needs we took him and we wont look back as he becomes one of the top rushers in the league.

3.8 LG William Ballard - Arizona State

Analysis - With the top 2 players taken right before our picks (QB Porter,S Coleman) it fell down to our 3rd ranked prospect from our need stand point in the 3rd round. After an off-season of offensive line decimation thanks to a disappointing record. We were in the market for new young offensive lineup to groom for the future and we like size. William comes in a half biscuit short of 350lbs and is one of the stronger offensive linemen in the draft. With a weak offensive line class all around with prospects few and far between we felt the need to snag him here. While he is slow and lumbering he has a massive wing span and will block off anything he can reach.

5.8 LT Owen Gonzalez - Michigan

Analysis - Just trying to find anything to grasp at this point, The 9ers took our #1 player on the board for the 5th round right in front of us. Gonzalez fills a need for our club which is again is young, big offensive linemen, Gonzalez has alot of work to do before he can crack the lineup as hes still a very raw talent. His footwork is very sloppy and he looks lost at times so our coaching staff will have its work cut out for them but if we get it right we can have a serviceable linemen.

Broncos Bring in New Signal Caller ?

QB Andre Woodson

In the wee hours of the night, the Denver Broncos were contract by the Falcons gm inquiring about their on-going interest in QB Andre Woodson and proposed a player in the deal we feel comfortable enough dealing to pull the trigger. S Reggie Nelson is that player, he wasn't happy when he heard about his deal to the Falcons saying " I've played my entire career here, and laid everything i've had on the line for this team and this organization, For them to deal me without even a hint to me is just disrespectful, and for a Quarterback of all things F*** Them." On a lighter note Andre Woodson said he was happy to feel like he was wanted and is looking forward to the fresh start in the mile high city of Denver.

Broncos Bringing the 3-4 ?

MLB Patrick Willis

OLB Irving Davis

Once GM Chapman took over the Broncos he instantly fell in love with the linebackers they had, especially Rosario Garza and knew the massive young lb could be a force in the right scheme. The scheme he had in mind was the 3-4 but we lacked the complimentary pieces in the linebacker core to make it a reality. With that said we've confirmed two separate deals to bring in the talent. The first deal was struck with Texans gm Ricky Lung and the other with Packer gm James Paronne. The players acquired in these deals will make the 3-4 dream a reality. In the Texans deal we received LB Patrick Willis for an undisclosed draft pick, and with the Packs deal we received LB Irving Davis for WR Maclin and an undisclosed draft pick. Irving will form a speedy combo off the end opposite Garza to cover the outside rush and close in on the quarterback. When asked about parting with Maclin Del Rio said "Its hard to part with one of your better offensive players but we're comfortable enough with the other receivers we have here to let him go." Irving as mentioned earlier will switch to ROLB, while initially fearing of his size, he has more than enough speed to keep the meaty hands of linemen off of him and tackle his man. More to come later as more deals unfold
